If you are a lover of golf, you've got to schedule a trip to the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort - the home of "the one-and-only World Golf Hall of Fame."
Located just minutes from historic St. Augustine, Florida, the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort offers exceptional rooms and suites, flat-panel TVs, spa-inspired bathrooms, wireless Internet, a luxury spa, onsite dining, Serenata Beach Club and two world-class golf courses: King & Bear, the only course ever created by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and Slammer & Squire, designed with input from legends Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen just steps from the resort!
Even though we don't golf much anymore, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were well-designed, clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view of the golf course from the balcony. The swimming pool and hot tub offer a very relaxing setting with cushioned lounges. From our balcony, the round swimming pool looked like a big golf ball!
The resort is right off I-95 so it is very accessible and their free self-parking is a valuable asset when many properties are now charging up to $40 a day to park in their lots.
Finding multiple dining options is simple - from the contemporary elegance of the resort's new Villagio Italian Grille to Murray Bros. Caddyshack, the famous restaurant from comedian Bill Murray, to The Resort Shop which serves a full menu of Starbuck's coffees, pastries, breakfast fare, sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps and desserts as well as an array of local gifts and souvenirs.
Nearby historic St. Augustine also has over 300 choices for daytime or evening dining where you can "satisfy your every craving with charming cafés, friendly family-style dining and romantic waterfront settings beaming with sensational cuisine and sunset views."
A complimentary shuttle to and from historic downtown St. Augustine and to the world famous beach is available for hotel guests.
Just steps from the resort, the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum has exhibits that educate and entertain while paying homage to the legends of the game.
