Exotic and Elaborate

Laying claim to Halloween as a signature annual event in many towns has become fashionable to elevate the fall touring months. But in America's First Destination, where the pilgrims first landed almost 400 years ago, reveling fright figures by the thousands venture to the tip of Cape Cod each year for the grand daddy spook fest of them all, in the foggy and eerie village where it all began.
Making Halloween that special commemoration comes naturally for a town where dressing up and donning costumes is a part of everyday life, one of the many reasons Travel and Leisure named Ptown one of "America's Quirkiest Towns." Ptown's uniqueness shines as the town hosts unforgettable Halloween events under the bewitching spell cast on Ptown for the weekend.
The holiday celebration of the pumpkin features high stepping on dance floors and roaming fog-laced back alleys or a spooky cemetery. Head to one of the town's famed clubs to dance until you're dead (or undead), or measure your costume's merit against Halloween's best in contests that in some cases award cash prizes for best group, sexiest and scariest costumes. There's no shortage of events to rattle your skeleton's bones, while proving why Halloween weekend is one of the most fun times of year to visit Ptown.
Festivities run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 and feature a little of everything to bring great horror to a memorable Halloween. Start early on Friday and flash your dance moves at the extended Halloween Tea Dance or at Ghoulish Halloween. Kick off Spooky Bear Weekend with the Spooky Weekend Meet & Greet, the Spooky Bear Rocky Horror Screening and the Spooky Bear Slaughterhouse Saints & Sinners Ball, or visit the Halloween Video Lounge to see what VJ Tom Yaz has showing on the screens for the weekend.
