MARINA, Betty Who, and More Headline NYC Pride’s Only Black Tie Event ‘Love Above All Ball’ Benefiting Born This Way Foundation
Tishman Speyer’s Rainbow Room, the iconic venue overlooking New York City from 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s lofty 65th floor, today announced Love Above All Ball, its first annual philanthropic Pride Ball celebrating the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement, presented with support from OUT@NBCUniversal, and proceeds benefiting Born This Way Foundation.
Love Above All Ball is not only NYC Pride’s singular ticketed, black tie affair, adding a meaningful flagship event to the WorldPride and NYC Pride calendars by bringing together more than 500 members of the global queer and ally communities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising; it will also support the next generation of queer youth through Born This Way Foundation’s unique efforts to support the wellness of young people by connecting them to the resources they need to thrive and drive change in their communities.
“Born This Way Foundation was founded with the goal of empowering young people from all walks of life to create a kinder and braver world. Today’s youth are a passionate, collaborative, and diverse generation,” said Cynthia Germanotta, President and Co-Founder, Born This Way Foundation. “We are proud to be partnering with Rainbow Room for its first-ever Pride event celebrating love, creativity, and community.”
Guests will enjoy a diverse array of entertainment in Rainbow Room, Gallery Bar, and Bar SixtyFive, including headline performances by MARINA and Betty Who, a live cabaret emceed by Shangela with accompanying burlesque show, a live sword swallowing act, magic show, and disappearing woman act by magician Adam Cardone, and more. An extravagant selection of passed canapés and premium open bar will be complemented with live sets by acclaimed DJs Casey Spooner, Nicky Siano, and Miss Guy with no shortage of celebrity guest appearances.
“NBCUniversal prides itself on its support of our LGBTQ employees and the LGBTQ community,” said Craig Robinson, Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for NBCUniversal. “As iconic tenants of Tishman Speyer’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza and neighbors of the Rainbow Room, we are thrilled to lend our support to this milestone event.”
