Drive is heartbreakingly beautiful for so many reasons to me. Having the late Benjamin Orr (who had a wonderful solo hit called “Stay the Night” brought a different feel to the song and it is truly one of my favorites. Lyrically the song takes you there and the emotions just seem to flow. I literally have been known to tear up at this song depending on how emotional I am that day.
The song was also used in a very powerful way at Live Aid where images of starving children were played along with the song. The end result compelled you to open a wallet and even as a 14 year old, I did. I emptied my piggy bank and gave a donation.
The song is beautiful and is one of my top 10 of all time.
