This is the sleeve to New Order’s “True Faith”. Rising like the Phoenix from the remnants of the Joy Division the band New Order had me locked in. Their electronic brilliance sparkled through the early 80’s with a good cult following but no main-steam love.
This changed in 1987 with the release of the greatest hits package Substance and the new song “True Faith”. Backed by one of the most innovative videos ever, the song broke the top 40 and provided the band with their first hit single.
The catalog is excellent. This song is also one of those songs that I could sit there and imagine my own music video for the song. (Mine involves a deadly game of monopoly with the band as the board pieces).
Anyway, please take a moment to watch this one. It truly is iconic in the history of music videos.
