AANR Skinny Dip 2015
AANR Skinny Dip 2015
Simultaneously skinny-dipping across North America and beyond
By Steven Skelley & Thomas Routzong
Anyone who has ever tossed aside their swimsuit knows that unmistakable feeling of exhilaration, freedom and comfort that only skinny-dipping in the nude brings. If you would like to enjoy that wonderfully satisfying and natural feeling again, you don’t have to do it alone. The American Association for Nude Recreation is hosting a nationwide skinny-dipping event!
At 3:00 p.m. on July 11, 2015, people across North America and beyond will be simultaneously skinny-dipping at nudist resorts, clubs, beaches, public lands and backyards.
Whether you are a first time skinny-dipper or you are lifelong nudist or naturist, this is a fantastic opportunity to let it all hang out with a great group of people who enjoy experiencing nature in the most natural way – nude.
We asked Beverly Price, President of the American Association for Nude Recreation, why these events are important.
“For fun, for camaraderie, for the public relations value to AANR in sponsoring such an event. I'm sure that anyone who has skinny-dipped will be nostalgic about the idea of Skinny-Dipping Again - the theme of the AANR event this year,” Price told us.
What about those who have always wanted to try skinny-dipping but never quite got the nerve to bare it all at a nude beach or resort? Is this the perfect opportunity for them?
“Yes, of course! This is really one of the major reasons for holding an event of this sort - to encourage those who might be contemplating trying nudism to have an excuse to do so. AANR also has an event planned for the fall - Naked Games - that we will be promoting for the same reasons. Current members just want to have fun and the potential new members can feel the excitement in trying something new.”
Ralph Collinson, President of American Association for Nude Recreation Florida region, agrees.
“I think that the Skinny Dips are good opportunity for our members to get together and have fun during Nude Recreation Week. They also offer a great opportunity for the clubs to open their doors to the local community to attract new members. These events are an excellent opportunity to introduce people to clothing optional recreation. My own club - Northeast Florida Naturists - will be gathering at a private residence in St. John's County. We expect 40 to 50 participants. We have hired a band and plenty of food. It is one of our biggest events every year. I expect to see record turnouts at participating resorts statewide,” Collinson said.
